Bilstein Suspension Actuators

The early adaptive suspension system developed by Bilstein used electronic actuators to turn an internal shaft and adjust the valving inside the shock absorber. This electronic component fails over time as the internal gears of the system are made of a composite material similar to plastic that becomes hard and brittle with age.

Sourcing new actuators can be difficult and quite an expense when the vehicle may need more than one at a time. Working backwards from the original components we disassemble the original motor and housing and then replace all internal components made from that weaker material with new CNC machined aluminium pieces. This ensures the factory aesthetic and function but improving the longevity and durability of the internal components.
