Secondary Air Pump

The secondary air system is designed to bring the catalytic converters up to temperature quickly and reduce emissions in cold start conditions. Due to the materials used and high rotational forces, the impellor of the air pump can fail over time. This means the pump will run but not move any air. In other cases, the bearings for the motor can fail which can cause the shaft to not run true and damage the blades of the impellor.

The complete pump is no longer available and for this reason we have created a solution to ensure that this important item can continue to work effectively.

Having carried out a 3D scan and model of the impellor, we then remake the part to the correct specification. Once we receive your pump, we carry out a flow test and confirm what has failed. We then disassemble it, replace the impeller and bearings as needed and carry out a final test. Once passed, we ship the item back to you for re-installation to the vehicle.
